The adventure continues to Illinois

Family time in Illinois
May/June 2012

Our adventure continued on, after we said our goodbyes to Amanda and Blake, we pulled away from the curb and were off to start the 2nd half of our journey.
Aaubre was her adorable self, as always.  She's such a good little traveler.
We had twelve hours ahead of us. Twelve hours.  That may not seem a lot to some, so you may be asking your self "why?...whats the reason for the emphasized twelve hours?"  It's simple.  We are freaking RoCkStArS that's why!  Yes, we got up that morning around the usual morning hours (8ish, possibly earlier - a little munchkin only lets you sleep for so long ya know), then we hung out and proceeded to gather our things together to pack 'em up.  Amanda and I took a small break in the day to get a massage - wonderful! Anything I could do for my pregnant body before exposing it to a twelve hour car ride, I'll do it!  Amanda then took us to get our rental car about 4 in the afternoon - we took it back to her place - packed it up - said our goodbyes and then we were off! Yes, this means that we were not going to bed, we're RoCkStArs and were gonna drive thru the night!!
We set Aaubre up with the computer and a movie as to avoid any boredom that may possibly arise.  I think she made it through about 1-2 movies, then she took a mini power nap.  Once darkness hit it was onto the ROCK JAMS!  Oh man we are good!  Even little Aaubre had a blast staying up through the night with us just rockin' away!  Like I said, we are rockstars!  We had such a good time.  We would even do this thing with her, the thing how you laugh, then she laughs, then you laugh again and so on and so forth and you both (all of us in this case) start laughing uncontrollably! haha love it!  Once things/we calmed down a bit, of course the weather starting acting up.  We were driving right into it.  I think we were in Oklahoma at this point, but who's to know for sure, it was too dark I wouldn't have been able to see the Welcome to Oklahoma or Welcome to Missouri sign if it was lit up on the side of of the road.  The wind was getting pretty gusty and we were too in "awe" of the the lightening that lit up the sky up ahead.  It was pretty mesmerizing.  I was still driving, for which I was glad.  Aaron gets anxiety way too bad when the roads are wet and rain is pouring down.  Although I will have to admit, driving in the heavy wet rain on a bridge over a big lake that was only made known to us by the lightening in the sky made me a little nervous too.  It gave me the chills.  But we made it through.  Then Aaubre had to pee.  She did amazing, we both must say, for being potty trained for only a few months, she was able to hold it until we came across the next town.  Once my two passengers passed out, it was up to me to entertain myself.  It was easy-peasy for the first little while, picking music stations to listen to, thinking, focusing but after 8hrs of me driving, it was time for a break!  Wake up Aaron its your turn! hahah... he drove for about an hour or two and that's about all he could handle, then it was back to me behind the wheel for the remaining 2-3 hours.
WE MADE IT!  yay!
The bed was calling our name... haha!  We got settled in, made Aaubre a bed on the floor by mama, turned on some cartoons and then we all crashed.
Here is how little miss cute girl sleeps.
Please note, going forward, my pictures won't be as clear.  Our camera decided to DIE on us so we had to use the camera on our video camera, which obviously isn't the greatest camera, but at least I was able to still get some pictures!!  I don't know if my pic-aholic self would have survived without a camera for too long.  I would have reverted back to disposable cameras if I didn't have this one!... almost did, however I can't stand not being able to view the pic to see if it turned out ok so I resisted! haha
K so every time (which it's only been two, but seriously?), every time I come out to visit Illinois it rains and it gets cold and I only hear about how hot and sunny it was the week before.  It's a total bummer.  Im making a goal that we will visit Illinois when its warm!! We will!  But it did not ruin our trip, not in the least!  Grandma and Grandpa Cooper took care of us and we got to do some fun things while in town, like visit the childrens museum!  Aaubre had so much fun there! She could have stayed there the entire trip if we let her.  It was the first time we had ever taken her to a childrens museum, so it was awesome!! ...plus it was pretty cool we got to share that with Great Grandma and Grandpa!
We also got to go and visit Aunt Gloria and Uncle Gary, as well as JJ!  He let her have a cute little puppy toy, which she still has!  She will even tuck it in bed with her to go "night-night" too :)  They took one of the pups that "Silly" (Aaliyah/Gma Laura's yorkie) had and she is SOOOOO cute!  Aaubre had a lot of fun with her, in fact she had fun with her toys too, and placed them all in Rosie's bed lol!  Aaubre got a really cool dog book from them.  She gets it out from time to time to show her friends the silly dogs all dressed up!
Meet Rosie :)
And here's a few pics of Aaubre playing with Rosie's sibling, before they sold him.
We celebrated Aaron and Aaubre's Birthdays with them too! How lucky is that!!  That's like a month of celebrating! ...once with friends and family before we leave Utah, then in Texas and now in Illinois! They should feel loved because they totally are!!
When the time came for us to fly back home, we were sad to go but were also ready to spend some time back in our own beds.  We enjoyed every single minute we were on our little adventure and we cannot wait to make another trip out!  it was so much fun and now we have so many more great memories that we will have to remember throughout our lifetime!

We love hanging out on Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's front porch!

Starting summertime off right....with a Popsicle!!
Aaubre helping with the dishes... so nice :)
Playing with Grandma Laura - - she also chased her around (not inside, literally around the house! lol) the house about a million times!!
Here's a family picture... not many of these were taken... Im so swollen! boo to water weight! YIKES! haha
