Trip to IL

Labor Day weekend we went to IL for Aaron's grandparents 50th Anniversary Celebration. Aaubre was about 4 months at the time and it was her first plane ride. We were a bit nervous, wondering how she'd react to the change in cabin pressure during take off and landing, and if she'd be ok sitting with us in one spot for the 3 and a half hour flight. Much to our surprise she did EXCELLENT, with the 10minute exception of screaming because her ears hurt (poor girl), but 10minutes was nothing compared to how long we were on there. She slept for about half the time and then, of course, she had to poop so we got to experience changing a diaper in that small teeny tiny space they call a bathroom - yay ;o) We had taken two flights to get back home and we actually had one guy come up to us stating how amazing our little girl was and that she was the best baby he had ever seen! That made us feel good. She is a little trooper :)
The Anniversary party went really well and it was super nice to finally meet everyone in the family that I hadn't met yet. Aaubre got to finally meet her Great Grandparents too! She loved spending time with them... great-grandma Cooper had gotten down on the floor to play with her and got some pretty big smiles outta her. We were able to get in on video too. It was so cute!
Aaubre got to meet her Grandpa Armon for the first time too! ...and Aunt Amanda! They all had a lot of fun with her and Amanda got her gigglin' so good! It made us all laugh :)
While we were there we got to visit the town of Arthur, which is home to a lot of Omish. While we were driving down the road you could see all the white homes with blue shutters or curtains and we even had to pass a horse and buggie - it almost didn't seem real, like we were visiting a "fake town" or "play". I could never live the way they do, with no electricity or cars or washers and dryers. Makes me feel really lucky to have the things I have! :) Aaron got to spend a lot of quality time with his dad and grandpa and they even played a few games of golf. We even spent some time at the community pool. We bought Aaubre a swmming diaper to she how'd she like taking a dip in the kiddy pool, but she screamed as soon as her toes touched the water! haha ... it was a bit cooler than her liking :) so for the rest of the time, she happily hung out by grandma Laura's side while we acted like kids again, jumping off the diving board and splashin around.
Although we were there for 5 days, the time came and went in a flash! We had a really good time and look forward to the next time we go back to visit!
