Baby no more...

Aaubre is getting to be such a little KID!! Each day there is something new that she does and she has developed such a cute little character, and not to be forgotten, a little attitude too. *lol* I can't believe that only 2 more months she will be 1 year old!!!
She has learned to crawl, THAT was so fun to watch!
Stage 1: At first she started on all fours and would just stay there. She didn't go forward or backward, just was still, on all fours wondering what to do next. She would get so frustrated she would hang her head and just cry. Stage 2: Rock it baby! Thats says it all... she would just rock forward and backward on all fours. Stage 3: Now this is where it started to get really fun! She finally figured out how tell her little legs and arms what to do. She would sway back and fourth with each slow crawl forward, it reminded me of a praying mantis, but we were all so estatic! Stage 4: Final stage.... she could crawl. Not only could she crawl she became the ultimate crawler! One second she would be right there and the next she was half way down the hall! She is a pro! She has also learned how to "scoot-crawl" too. To elaborate, picture yourself sitting on the floor hugging your legs so they are by your chest... your feet are flat on the floor right? Ok, now put one of those legs down like it was preparing to go into "indian style sitting" and put your hands on the floor infront of you. Now lift your bum off the floor by by standing in a crouch position with the leg that has the foot on the floor and pull yourself forward with your arms, then sit on your bum again. Do this many times over and over and you will get to your selected destination. We believe she does this to "save" her knees... she only does it when she's on tile flooring - so clever ;)
Attitude. tantrums, and WHAAAAT???
The other day Aaubre had grabbed the dogs "chewy", otherwise known as the dog bone. We all know how yucky and slimy these can get once a dog has knawed on it for a bit, so I did not want her to have it. I thought I would be clever and teach her how to "give a dog a bone" thus avoiding any tantrum that may arise by simply taking it away from her. She was willing at first... reaching the bone out to the puppy, but THEN, when the dog gently took the bone, tears rolled down the cheeks and onto the belly she flopped kicking her legs. She was not a happy camper. Hold on, the story gets better. After crawling towards me and stopping to throw her fit several times on her way, she ended up with her head on my arm.... and thats when SHE BIT ME!! Yes she BIT me! That cute, sweet, adorable little angel of mine BIT me!! I was in shock and pulled my arm away from the jaws of my little one, which in turn, scared her so she cried even more. I felt so bad, but after telling her "no" and she shouldn't do that I hugged and loved her and she was fine within a few minutes.
One cool kid :)
Aaubre has developed the "courtesy laugh". You know, the laugh that we all use when we really aren't laughing but we throw it in a conversation from time to time to express that we find what they are saying "humorous" HAHA. She does that and its so cute! Aaron and I were watching this comedian once and he started talking about how strange it is how that after a certain age or stage of a kids life, its like they are determined to hurt themselves... everyone starting laughing because it is SO true!! Seriously, if you think about it, they do!... curiousity get the best of them and they try to stick things in electrical sockets, tip things over - thus falling over themselves, crawling off of beds as if it were never ending, or simply discovering their teeth and the mighty crushing power they have after biting their own fingers! *lol* That is the exact stage that lil' A is in right now. She's constantly hurting herself, no matter how closely you watch her, she'll find a way! As parents, it's painful to see her go through this stage, but its all apart of growing up and learning. We got her some sunglasses, some Hello Kitty sunglasses (her daddy is "in" to Hello Kitty for her, its pretty cute :) and she does a pretty good job at keeping them on. I personally think that she thinks she's pretty coooooool in them. She'll just kick back and smile with her stunnuh shades on! HAHA Oh and she LOVES bathtime and everything that comes along with it!... the bubbles, the splishin' and splashin, the water tootin' and laughin', the rubber duckies and especially, the wash clothes!! I need two or three of them cuz she'll find it and take it, then find the other and ofcorse that one goes in her other hand, so the third is what I get :) She is growing up so quickly its A-MAZE-ING!! Each and every stage is just so exciting and fun!! The next step, is her first step!! She stood up all by herself the other day - no hands - no support - just her and her own two feet!! She'll be walking before we know it!
xoxo WE LOVE YOU AAUBRE!!! xoxo
